One Piece: Admiral Ryokugyu Not a Threat?

One Piece Chapter 1053 itself presents a lot of epic information and also a hanging storyline that makes fans curious.  Previously, Luffy and Buggy were finally chosen to be the two new Yonko to replace Kaido and Big Mom.  Then, we also know that Luffy's latest bounty is the same as Law and Kid, which is 3 billion Belly each.

No less interesting is the information that the Pluton Ancient Weapon is in Wano.  However, what fans are most curious about is of course how Admiral Ryokugyu is currently on his way to Wano, after he wiped out the rest of the Beast pirate crew.  Ryokugyu plans to finish off Luffy, as he wants to impress Sakazuki.

Unfortunately, the existence of Ryokugyu in Wano is not many people are aware of and know about.  Although we've seen a bit of Ryokugyu's ability, where he has the devil fruit power to grow plants and absorb fluids, there are some fans who think that Ryokugyu is not a big threat.  There is something more important and dangerous awaits.

Ryokugyu Not a Threat?

Ryokugyu's appearance in Wano actually violated what Sakazuki had previously ordered.  In the previous chapter, the Fleet Admiral forbade any navy from going to Wano because he didn't know how strong the Wano samurai were.  Not to mention, their fleet was a little left from chasing the Shichibukai.  In chapter 1052, Sakazuki ordered Ryokugyu not to mess around.

However, in fact, in chapter 1053 we saw how he single-handedly took out the rest of the Beast army.  How he tried to challenge Luffy, who incidentally was the one who defeated Kaido and was the new Yonko, was the wrong idea.  Even though he was an admiral, defeating a Yonko wasn't easy.

Not to mention, in Wano right now it's not just Luffy.  The other Worst Generations were also gathering in one place.  Meaning, if Ryokugyu wanted to capture or challenge Luffy, then he would also have to deal with the other pirates.  Even without any "help" from other pirate groups, the Straw Hats themselves have become a big threat at this time for Ryokugyu.

Some of them managed to defeat the higher-ups of the Beast group without getting hurt.  Ryokugyu himself came to Wano and finished off the rest of the Beast pirate crew, not really that impressive.  They were all exhausted and injured from the previous battle.  Even so, it doesn't mean that Luffy's alliance can't lose or has no chance of losing.

Currently, their condition is still in the recovery period.  Facing an admiral-class opponent wasn't in prime or perfect condition, meaning they could be in a dangerous state.  On the other hand, the true strength of Ryokugyu which is still mysterious is also one of the other factors how they can lose.  We certainly still need to see how strong Ryokugyu really is.

Conclusion

Ryokugyu's appearance in Wano will certainly present another threat to Luffy or other pirates.  Dealing with an admiral would certainly be another tough task.  However, for Ryokugyu himself to challenge someone who had defeated other Yonko was not a wise decision.  Moreover, there were many other pirates there.

Narratively speaking, it didn't make sense for Ryokugyu to lose so easily.  After a long time Oda presented it in the form of a silhouette, losing so easily will certainly cause controversy among fans.  The confrontation between them will likely end with Oda still saving Ryokugyu's pride.

He was the one who was in an unfavorable condition.  The Ryokugyu were currently outnumbered and also outclassed in terms of strength.  Unless he has a much stronger strength than Luffy and other pirates, it's hard to imagine how Green Bull can win against Luffy or any other pirate.
