One Piece: The Different Sources of the Yonko's Strengths!

As we already know, Yonko is a term to describe the four rulers of the ocean in One Piece.  They are the rulers of the territory in the New World as well as the strongest pirates.  The Yonko themselves have a large fleet and their respective territories in the New World, and they are the biggest threat to the World Government.

Many theorize that the Yonko itself is a system created by the World Government, which means there could be a roll-out of this title.  Just like the Shichibukai, there were already several people who filled the title.  An example is the figure of Blackbeard who replaces the figure of Whitebeard.  And most recently, Luffy and Buggy replaced Kaido and Big Mom.  The Yonko's new composition can be said to be interesting, moreover, their sources of power are also different.

Monkey D Luffy

In the Wano Country arc, precisely during the big battle in Onigashima, we find a new fact that Luffy's real devil fruit is not Gomu Gomu no Mi, but Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika.  This type of devil fruit is also not a Paramecia as we know it, but a Mythical Zoan.  This fact definitely surprises all One Piece fans who have been following the series since the beginning.

The fact that Luffy is a Mythical Zoan devil fruit user, seems as if Oda deliberately presented as a "substitute" for Kaido's figure.  The most powerful creature in the world is also a Mythical Zoan devil fruit user.  This means that both Luffy and Kaido are both Mythical Zoan users.  It will be interesting to see what Luffy will do next with his devil fruit power.

Buggy

Buggy became a substitute figure for other Yonko besides Luffy.  He replaced Big Mom, who was defeated by a combination of Law and Kid.  Buggy himself consumed the Bara Bara no Mi devil fruit or Chop-Chop Fruit, a Paramecia-type devil fruit where all his limbs can be separated within a certain range.  Unfortunately, the ability of Bara Bara no Mi is less explored in the story.

If Luffy seems to replace Kaido with his Mythical Zoan, then Oda seems to present Buggy as a replacement for Big Mom.  The source of the strength of these two characters both come from the Paramecia type devil fruit.  Big Mom consumed Soru Soru no Mi when she was a child, after she accidentally ate Mother Caramel.  Will Oda finally show the awesomeness of Bara Bara no Mi by turning Buggy into a Yonko?

Blackbeard

Blackbeard is indeed one of the figures hated by One Piece fans, as well as all other characters.  Teach has done many terrible things to date, from ordering level 6 prisoners to kill each other, to killing his own comrades in the Whitebeard pirates.  The development of Blackbeard's character in the series goes so fast.

It didn't take him long to get to where he is now.  Even though Blackbeard has two devil fruits, he basically relies on his first devil fruit, the Yami Yami no Mi.  This Logia type devil fruit allows Blackbeard to control and manipulate darkness.  One thing that is terrible about the devil fruit is that the user is able to neutralize the power of the opponent's devil fruit.

Shanks

Shanks is the Yonko of the old generation left today.  He was already a Yonko 6 years prior to the current timeline in the series.  Even though he only has one arm, Shanks is still strong enough to go head to head with various strong characters like Whitebeard or the Admirals of the navy.  As we know, Shanks doesn't have any devil fruit abilities.

Shanks is the only Yonko in history who doesn't have a devil fruit power.  Even so, Shanks is famous for having very extraordinary Haki abilities.  That's what makes Shanks different from other characters, especially the other Yonko.  The fans themselves are still waiting to see how far and how strong Shanks' level of strength is, thus making many people respect Shanks' figure.

Conclusion

Whether intentionally or not, Oda Sensei seems to present all kinds of devil fruit powers which he then represents by the current Yonko.  In fact, not only the three types of devil fruit, Oda also represents the power of Haki in the figure of Shanks.  That is, all types of power in the One Piece series have been represented by the Yonko.

And what's also interesting is that the Yonko's successors also seem to intentionally present Oda to have the same power as their predecessors.  Maybe this is the reason why Oda presents various surprises, such as Luffy's devil fruit turns out to be a Mythical Zoan and not a Paramecia as we know it.
