One Piece: Joy Boy The First Pirate King?

The figure of Joy Boy is an important figure in the story in the One Piece series.  His name had reappeared in Kozuki Oden's flashback in the Wano Country arc.  At that time, Roger read the Poneglyph in Laugh Tale.  He just laughed while saying that he wished he could live in the same era as Joy Boy.

The name Joy Boy also appeared in the Poneglyph on the Fishman Island.  In the Poneglyph it is written that Joy Boy apologized for failing to fulfill his promise to the fishmen.  In addition to being an important figure in the history of the fish-man island, Joy Boy is also an important figure in the era of the lost century.

Joy Boy the First Pirate King?

Based on the existing explanation, there is speculation that the Ancient Kingdom, Joy Boy, ancient weapon, and D's will are all connected.  In his speculations, it was explained that there was a possibility that the figure of Joy Boy was actually an important figure in the Ancient Kingdom.  Maybe he was the leader or the king.  And speaking of the Ancient Kingdom, there is speculation about this as well.

The theory states that the Ancient Kingdom was a kingdom where all of its people were pirates.  That is, in other words the Ancient Kingdom was a pirate empire.  They spread all over the world to explore and spread the "ideology" of the kingdom.  And the ideology they spread contains the freedom and equality of all races throughout the world.

This seems to make sense because in fact they have a lot of cooperation.  For example, Joy Boy cooperates with fishmen or with the Minks.  It could be that what the residents of the Ancient Kingdom did is the same as what Luffy did.  Namely building many allies throughout the One Piece story.

There are many ways for Luffy to build this cooperation, starting from freeing prisoners, freeing a country from evil groups, and so on.  For now, we still don't know the facts about the Ancient Kingdom and Joy Boy.  However, if then Joy Boy is the leader or king of the Ancient Kingdom, which is speculated to be the kingdom of the pirates, then it means that Joy Boy is the first pirate king and the literal king of pirates.

Pirate King Title

So far, the title of pirate king will only belong to those who have reached Laugh Tale and found One Piece.  With the theory that Laugh Tale was the lost Ancient Kingdom, as well as the theory that the Ancient Kingdom was a kingdom that was predominantly pirates, then the title did make sense to be given to those who managed to reach the island.

Why is that?  Because a trip or adventure to get to Laugh Tale can also be considered a “competition.”  Whoever is able to complete his adventure to be able to go to Laugh Tale, then he is the winner.  They will arrive at an island that became the beginning of the emergence of pirates.  That's why the pirates who arrived at Laugh Tale would become the next pirate king.

So, in conclusion, Joy Boy was likely the leader or king of the Ancient Kingdom.  The kingdom is home to great people like the D clan and so on.  The majority of the population in the Ancient Kingdom was theorized to be pirates, which then spread throughout the world.  With Joy boy being the leader of these "pirates", it means he is the first pirate king in the world.
