One Piece: Sanji's Position in the Straw Hats Threatened?

The Straw Hat Pirates begin their journey towards their next destination.  The Wano Country arc provides them with a variety of valuable experiences, which will be useful for their future adventures.  One of the special things about the arc is how all the Straw Hats get together.  Since the Dressrosa arc, the Straw Hat crew has been divided into small groups.

That's why, it must be really nice to see them together.  With the Straw Hats defeating the Beasts, they are back in the attention of the World Government.  This means that their bounty has increased again.  And speaking of bounty, One Piece fans argue a lot about Sanji's bounty being smaller than Zoro and even Jinbe.

Bounty Value

When the Wano arc first started, Sanji was the crew with the second highest bounty in the Straw Hat crew.  This is thanks to the heroic actions he did in the Whole Cake Island arc.  Sanji's bounty also increased to 330,000,000 Belly, which outperformed Zoro's bounty.  However, again, Zoro overtook Sanji's bounty and he's even more powerful.

Zoro's bounty now reaches 1,111,000,000 Belly.  Meanwhile, Sanji's bounty is only 1,032,000,000 Belly.  Usually, this means Sanji is back in his usual place of third place in the trio of monsters.  However, since Jinbe's appearance as a new crew in the Straw Hats, the competition in the Straw Hat trio has become tight.  Jinbe's own bounty is 1,100,000,000 Belly.  Does that mean Sanji is no longer a trio of monsters?

Facts

Even though it's true that Sanji's bounty is smaller than Jinbe's, it doesn't mean he's much stronger than Sanji.  Game value is sometimes not something that can be used to measure the strength level of a character.  The game value is more of an indication of how much the World Government feels threatened or how much of a threat a character carries.  For example, we can see Buggy's bounty is much greater than Crocodile, Luffy, Law, Kid, and even Blackbeard.

Buggy's very high bounty certainly doesn't represent his strength.  The reason why Buggy scores so high is more to his reputation.  The navy is well aware that he is a former Roger pirate crew.  This information was added to Buggy's reputation as a "rival" to Shanks, and the misinformation that he was the mastermind behind the attack on Impel Down.

The most recent is how they believed that Buggy was able to get Crocodile and Dracule Mihawk to work under his name.  This also increases their belief that Buggy is a big threat.  This was the reason why they rewarded him with a bounty of 3,189,000,000 Belly.  Despite his high bounty, Buggy couldn't even beat his subordinates.

What is also a difference in bounty value logic is how Luffy should have the greatest bounty from Kid and Law.  However, in fact, they gave all three the same bounty of 3,000,000,000 Belly.  Does that mean their power level is the same?  The answer is no.  Luffy is much stronger and superior of the two.  He was even able to defeat Kaido alone.

In Sanji's case, there is a logical reason why Jinbe has a higher bounty than Jinbe.  One of them is that Sanji's popularity is no bigger than Jinbe's.  This is reasonable considering Jinbe is a much more experienced pirate than Sanji.  So, it might make sense that Jinbe's bounty is greater than Sanji's.

Where is Sanji's position?

An easy way to gauge the strength between Jinbe and Sanji is to look at their opponents during the Wano arc.  Jinbe confronts the Who's Who, who are part of the Flying Six.  Meanwhile, Sanji fights against Queen, who is part of the All-Star and the number three strongest figure in the Beast group.  All-Star itself is the three strongest commanders of Kaido.

Meanwhile, the Flying Six position is under the All-Star.  They were strong enough, but no match for the All-Stars.  The difference in the quality of the opponents that Sanji and Jinbe faced gave a clear picture of their level of strength.  Not only did Sanji have to face stronger opponents, but he also won quite easily.  In fact, Sanji had faced King and Queen together even if only briefly.

Sanji protected Zoro when he was seriously injured, and managed to save Momonosuke from death.  All the things that happened to Sanji in the Wano arc lead to one conclusion that he is much stronger than Jinbe.  So, in conclusion, Sanji remains in third place in terms of strength level.  It's all just a matter of numbers.  In the next arc, it's not impossible that Sanji will get a high bounty again.
