One Piece: Marco Is Unbeatable?

 

 

In the Onigashima battle in One Piece, the figure of Marco the Phoenix was in the spotlight and the conversation of the fans. This is because of his ability to face two All-Stars at once, King and Queen. We can see this moment in chapter 1006 yesterday. In the chapter, Marco appears to attack both of them at once, as if to show his true abilities.

Previously, many fans doubted the ability of Marco. It was because of several previous incidents, where Marco was deemed unable to face his enemies. An example is Marco was unable to win the battle at Marineford and also the battle against Blackbeard in the Payback War. Apart from this, Marco's appearance in this wano arc can more or less help the Straw Hats' alliance in dealing with the invasion of the Beast pirate group.

Oda Sensei's explanation

According to Oda Sensei, Marco's Mythical Zoan Phoenix devil fruit has the ability 'Blue Fire of Revival', which is where the blue fire that surrounds Marco's body is not hot or burns around it like a fire in general. Instead, it was the fire that made Marco recover quickly from various wounds. This fire also renders various attacks aimed at him ineffective.

In addition to being able to treat himself, Marco's blue flames are proven to be able to heal other people's wounds. For example when he used his ability to treat Nekomamushi's arm on Sphinx Island. Or the latest example is how the blue flames managed to dampen the effects of Queen's Ice Demon. This power gives Chopper time to make the antidote.

This is what makes Marco one of the best doctors. However, what we need to note is that Marco also in fact has a power limit. We can see how Marco was wrapped in bandages after the great war at Marineford, at Whitebeard's funeral to be exact. According to Oda Sensei, this indicates that Marco can also be injured.
