One Piece: Arriving at Wano, What's Shanks' Mission?

The big battle in the Wano Country arc is finally over after some time yesterday it continued to heat up.  In addition there is an increase in the power that Oda Sensei gives to the characters.  We can see this from how Luffy's Ruler Haki increased during the fight against Kaido.  After previously losing several times, Luffy got back up and fought again against Kaido.

Then we also see how some characters use their awakening, including Luffy.  Thanks to the awakening power, Luffy finally managed to defeat Kaido and become a new Yonko figure.  In addition, this is also the peak of Luffy's strength for now.  And with the defeat of Kaido and Orochi, the residents of Wano are currently partying.

Talking about the Wano battle, there is one interesting thing that fans have been waiting for for a long time, namely the appearance of Shanks.  At the Jump Festa 2021 event, Oda Sensei gave a message to fans.  One of the contents of the message is that Oda gives a hint that Shanks will start moving.  It's still unknown what Oda's intention was, but many interpreted that Shanks would start moving towards Onigashima.

However, until yesterday's chapter 1053 we still haven't seen the appearance of Shanks in Wano.  Until then information appeared in the upcoming chapter 1054, finally the figure of Shanks appeared.  Based on the information about the leaks in the chapter, the Yonko was at Wano beach.  Then, what is the purpose of Shanks' appearance in Wano?

Shanks Destination to Wano

From the information we know that Shanks wants to meet Luffy.  However, he decided against it.  Shanks just shouted to Luffy that now is the time to start adventure again and search for One Piece.  Shanks himself really wanted to meet Luffy, but he had to do something important first.

Before meeting Luffy, he wanted to go see Bartolomeo and finish him off first.  Why then did Shanks want to kill Bartolomeo?  This has something to do with what happened in the previous cover story image.  In the cover image of chapter 875, it appears Bartolomeo burning the pirate flag belonging to the Red Hair group.  Shanks of course took this as a declaration of war, no matter that he was an ally of Luffy.

Shanks' appearance in Wano is interesting, because maybe this is what Oda Sensei means that he will start moving.  Also interesting is how Shanks told Luffy that now is the right time to start looking for One Piece.  What made Shanks think so?  Does he think that Luffy is strong enough to start looking for One Piece?  It could be.

With Luffy's current level of strength, it seems reasonable for the Straw Hat captain to advance to the next stage in search of One Piece.  However, looking at it from the other side, Luffy also feels quite ready to start the real adventure.  Wano seems to be the starting point for Luffy and his crew to start the journey to Laugh Tale and find One Piece.

Reinforce Previous Theory

Shanks came to Wano only to tell Luffy that now is the time to look for One Piece which might also be related to the quite popular theory.  In theory, Shanks is a peacekeeper or Laugh Tale island guard.  He deliberately waited for the right person to give access to the last island, which was the last wish of the former captain, Gol D. Roger.

Shanks has always been paying attention and keeping Luffy going unhindered to Laugh Tale.  And seeing how Luffy has progressed so far, where he managed to defeat Kaido, Shanks also thinks that now is the time for Luffy to start the real adventure.  Let's just wait for the continuation of the story in the next chapter, okay?
