One Piece: Is This Shanks' Final Enemy?

The promise from Eiichiro Oda that the Wano Country arc will be the biggest and most important arc in the series seems to have been proven.  The Wano storyline is the longest and longest storyline in the series, with a duration of more than two years.  In fact, this arc also beats the previous longest arc, Dressrosa.

The Wano arc itself shows the story of Kozuki Oden and his struggle to return Wano from the hands of Kaido and Orochi.  Unfortunately, the attempt failed.  Finally, Luffy and his allies tried to continue Oden's struggle.  And after a long and tiring battle, they managed to defeat the two tyrants.  Wano then regained the freedom and peace they had not felt for 20 years.

However, is it true?  Is it true that the Wano arc story ended with the defeat of Kaido and Big Mom?  What we've seen in the last few arcs suggest that it's likely that the story isn't finished yet.  Firstly, we still don't know what will happen to Kaido and Big Mom, with many fans speculating that the two might return.

Second, we see how an admiral, without everyone knowing, managed to get into Wano territory.  After eliminating the rest of the Beast pirate crew, Admiral Aramaki aka Green Bull is then seen walking towards the flower capital.  He purposely came to Wano to hunt down Luffy, and then gave it to the Fleet Admiral, Sakazuki.

As we know, Oda adapted the concept of traditional Kabuki performance for this Wano arc.  Although in general the show is divided into three acts, it is not uncommon to have additional acts that make the show can be divided into four or more acts.  Currently, we are in the third round.  However, there is still no information whether the upcoming chapter 1053 or 1054 will be the closing for the third round or there will be another chapter.

The Appearance of Another Figure

In the concept of Kabuki itself, if the show has more than three acts then usually the suffering of the characters does not only occur in the third act.  Terrible and sad things will also happen in the fourth round.  If in the third round Kaido and Orochi are the source of disaster or sadness, the question then is who will bring disaster in the fourth round?

One interesting theory, and one that has probably been around a lot among fans, is that of Blackbeard.  The last time he appeared in the story was in chapter 956, where Blackbeard read the news about what happened to Sabo and the events in Alabasta.  He then said something about seizing valuable things before they became the possession of the navy.

The question then is what do you think the navy or the World Government are after?  There are several possibilities that happened.  First is Pluton.  Information about Pluton, which is one of the Ancient Weapons, reappeared in chapter 1053 yesterday.  Initially, we get information that Pluton is in the Alabasta region.  This is what then makes Crocodile trying to conquer the region.

However, in fact, Pluton is not in Alabasta but in Wano.  Although so far there is no information that Blackbeard is after the Ancient Weapon, it is not impossible if he is indeed after the deadly object.  Second, it could be that Blackbeard is eyeing the figure of Nico Robin.  As the only person who could read the Poneglyphs, this made a lot of sense.

In fact, in the battle of Onigashima we find out that Kaido and Big Mom until the World Government are trying to get Robin.  The third and final possibility is the Road Poneglyph.  This has also been discussed in a previous article, that in Wano there are three Road Poneglyphs that Blackbeard can steal at one time.  Two are in Luffy's hands, and one is still hidden in Wano.

Looking for Luffy's Devil Fruit?

In addition to the four possibilities above, the appearance of Blackbeard to Wano could also be done to complete the mission he has been running for a long time.  Blackbeard tries to find various great and powerful devil fruits, which he then distributes to his crew.  So far, there have only been a few devil fruits that he managed to steal.  Examples are Suke Suke no Mi and also Gura Gura no Mi.

Jesus Burgess had tried to get the Mera Mera no Mi in the Dressrosa arc, but the effort finally failed after Sabo won his devil fruit.  The fact that Luffy's devil fruit is an extraordinary “treasure”, which even the World Government has been eyeing for 800 years ago, certainly makes Blackbeard tempted to get it.

Moreover, there is a theory that Blackbeard might be able to master three devil fruit powers at once.  This means, apart from Kaido's devil fruit, Blackbeard could also be after Luffy's Mythical Zoan devil fruit.

The Battle of Blackbeard and Shanks

The appearance of Aramaki and Blackbeard's crew is another sadness or misery in a new chapter.  It is not impossible that in the fourth round later, or even in the continuation of this third round, we will see a battle that is no less epic.  However, the fight was not Luffy facing Blackbeard.  But Blackbeard will face Shanks.

In chapter 907, Shanks briefly discussed a pirate who many fans believe is Blackbeard.  As many fans have theorized, that Shanks is the "keeper of the balance of the world" as we saw on Marinefrod.  He managed to stop the war, warned Whitebeard about Blackbeard, stopped Kaido from going to Marineford, and so on.

Shanks may already know Blackbeard's secret or grand plan, which is why he's trying to stop him at Wano.  That way, Blackbeard won't be able to get stronger.  This battle actually had a clue after the big events at Marineford.  At that time, Blackbeard did not dare to answer Shanks' challenge to fight.  He knew he wasn't strong enough to face Shanks yet.

Information about this battle is also reinforced by the information that appears in the booklet Road To Laugh Tale Vol.  2. In the booklet it is written that Shanks and Blackbeard are destined to fight each other.  After all, he was the one who had already inflicted damage on Shanks.  Will this epic fight happen?  Let's just wait!
